Technical Theatre

Weber State’s technical theatre degree offers students the skills and experience needed for technical production roles in costume, lighting and more. As a technical theatre major, you’ll learn from skilled faculty while working with industry-standard equipment used in theatre, dance and other performing arts. Our graduates are prepared for careers in theaters at all levels, tours and production shops, as well as associated fields like architecture, film and industrial events.

Students are given expansive networking opportunities with industry professionals, helping create a firm foundation for future careers. Additionally, our program hosts several student organizations, including the Associated Actors & Technicians student club, which brings students together for student-directed performances and experimental theatre; and Weber’s chapter of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), an organization dedicated to advancing theatre education.
