China Healthcare and Culture

Program Details

This study abroad program provides a unique and immersive opportunity to learn about Chinese Medicine, Healthcare, Tradition, and Culture. By visiting cultural sites and Chinese hospitals, students will gain firsthand experiences that go beyond traditional classroom learning. Exploring cultural sites allows for a deep dive into the historical and cultural context that underpins Chinese medicine and healthcare practices. This exposure fosters a richer understanding of the roots of these traditions. Furthermore, engaging with Chinese hospitals provides a practical perspective on the contemporary healthcare landscape, enabling students to witness the application of traditional practices in a modern context. This hands-on experience not only enhances their knowledge but also cultivates a nuanced understanding of the integration of tradition and modernity in Chinese healthcare.

Refunds will NOT be given to students due to COVID-19 concerns. Before programs were canceled in 2020, every student was given the option to withdraw from programs without penalty due to COVID-19. This year students are applying, cognizant of the pandemic. Weber State will not intentionally place students into high risk situations. We will work together with Program Leaders and Departments on canceling should the destination demonstrate increased risks, be they from COVID or any other concern. As such, students must abide by the standard refund policy.
