Supply Chain Management in East Asia

Program Details 

Supply Chain Management in East Asia will provide students with unique opportunities to learn about how East Asian companies create value in global supply chains and how the history and politics of a country can impact business practices. 

Selection Criteria:

  • Must possess a valid passport.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Must meet with Program Leader for a maturity assessment interview
  • Must follow WSU Student Code of Conduct
  • Must agree to all trip policies and expectations
  • Open to all majors (no prerequisites)
  • Group Size: Minimum 8 participants, Maximum 15 participants

Seoul, South Korea

Shanghai, China

Cost

Cost: $4200

Scholarships of $2,200 are available to business majors!

Deposit: $500  Deposit is due 72 hours after registration. If not paid in that timeframe, you may be dropped from your trip.

Payments can now be made online! Visit this website for instructions on how to pay your deposit and future payments online. Charges should show on your account within 24-48 hours after registration. If you want to pay with cash or check, please pay at the Hurst Center for Lifelong Learning.

Includes: insurance, tuition, room and board, local transportation abroad, excursions, and some meals.

Not included: airfare, visa fees, passport, incidentals, excess baggage costs, any unscheduled travel, and some meals.

This program supports Weber State’s sustainability goals and contributes to carbon-neutral travel initiatives.

5/12: Arrive in Seoul

5/13: Seoul- Company Visits

5/14: Seoul- University Visit

5/15: Seoul- DMZ

5/16: Seoul - temple and nature hike

5/17: fly to Shanghai, sightseeing, team meal

5/18: Shanghai - SGM and supplier company visits

5/19: Shanghai- cultural site visits

5/20: Shanghai Normal University Visit

5/21: Shanghai - Tour of Shanghai Disney Operations + day at the resort

5/22: Fly back to Seoul and depart from there to SLC

Academic Courses

Students who participate in this study abroad program will be able to register for up to three (3) semester credits through Weber State University in:

  • SCM 4850 - Global Supply Chain in East Asia (3)

Trip Cancellations

If Weber State cancels a trip for any reason, all participants will be refunded 100% of funds paid to the school. If a participant withdraws from the program for any reason, they are subject to the refund policy found on the first page of the application.  Deposits are always non-refundable, unless the program is canceled by Weber State.  No refunds will be issued 30 days prior to program start date.
