Graduate Study Abroad Europe

Program Details 

GSBE Graduate Study Abroad Europe is a 13-day international business program designed for MBA, MAcc, and MTax students to gain firsthand experience with global business operations in France, Switzerland, and Germany. Through business visits, cultural excursions, university collaborations, and guided discussions, students will explore differences in business climate, leadership, economic factors, and socio-political environments across the EU.

The program includes visits to partner institutions such as Kedge University in Paris, the European Central Bank region, and major companies in Paris, Zurich, Munich, and Hof. Students will also participate in cultural activities and structured academic reflection through journals, readings, and presentations.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must possess a valid passport.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be a current student in WSU MBA, MAcc, or MTax program.
  • Advanced undergraduate GSBE students may enroll beginning of Friday, February 13th, if space is available. Other graduate students may enroll on limited basis.
  • Must be able to walk long distances, sometimes on uneven surfaces.
  • Immediate family members (non-minors) may participate but students receive priority.

Prerequisites:

  • Admission into MBA, MAcc, or MTax program.
  • Limited enrollment possible for other WSU graduate programs and advanced GSBE undergraduates.

Cost

Cost: $760

Deposit: $200  Deposit is due 72 hours after registration. If not paid in that timeframe, you may be dropped from your trip.

Payments can now be made online! Visit this website for instructions on how to pay your deposit and future payments online. Charges should show on your account within 24-48 hours after registration. If you want to pay with cash or check, please pay at the Hurst Center for Lifelong Learning.

Need a passport? Visit the Weber Passport Office for application information and appointments.

Includes: insurance, tuition, room and board, local transportation abroad, excursions, and some meals.

Not included: airfare, visa fees, passport, incidentals, excess baggage costs, any unscheduled travel, and some meals.

This program supports Weber State’s sustainability goals and contributes to carbon-neutral travel initiatives.

  • Mid-April: Pre-departure meeting
  • May 1: Depart SLC
  • May 2: Arrive in Paris
  • May 3: Cultural visits in Paris
  • May 4: Visit partner university Kedge, Paris
  • May 5: Business visit at Station F → Train to Zurich, Switzerland
  • May 6: Business visit at Soudronic
  • May 7: Travel to Munich
  • May 8: Business visit in Munich
  • May 9: Cultural visits in Munich
  • May 10: Train to Hof, Germany
  • May 11: Business visits and reception by Hof City
  • May 12: Business visits → Train to Munich Airport
  • May 13: Return to Salt Lake City

Academic Courses

Students who participate in this study abroad program will be able to register for up to three (3) semester credits through Weber State University in:

  • MBA 6520 - International Business Field Studies (3)
  • MACC 6750 - Study Abroad (3)
  • MTAX 6750 - Study Abroad (3)

Counts as elective credit for MBA, MAcc, and MTax programs.

Trip Cancellations

If Weber State cancels a trip for any reason, all participants will be refunded 100% of funds paid to the school. If a participant withdraws from the program for any reason, they are subject to the refund policy found on the first page of the application.  Deposits are always non-refundable, unless the program is canceled by Weber State.  No refunds will be issued 30 days prior to program start date.
