A Global Perspective with Reach: Commission on the Status of Women – United Nations is a 5-day faculty-led study abroad experience in New York City where students will engage directly with global policymakers and professionals during the 70th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations. Through attendance at panel discussions, special sessions, and guided cultural activities, students will gain firsthand insight into international diplomacy, global governance, and social policy. The program integrates academic reflection, research, and action planning for students interested in global leadership, women’s issues, and social change.
Selection Criteria:
- 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Enrollment in POLS 4920 or WGS 4920 required.
- Must meet with Dr. Speicher before departure to ensure readiness for rigorous academic and travel schedule.
- Group size: maximum 9 students.
- Students with a dietary needs should coordinate with the program leader prior to travel.
