Employee Training
In addition to online employee training, we teach several courses related to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, student conduct and campus safety. Employees can access these courses through Learn Weber, and most are taught monthly.
- Building a Safer Campus Through Trust and Education: The information contained in this course will cover the scope and authority of the Weber State Police department, the Clery Act, and Clery requirements including the University's emergency notification system (Code Purple) and Safety Alerts. Additional WSUPD training can be found on their website (including Active Shooter training).
- Mandatory OEO/Title IX: Participants will understand what behaviors constitute discrimination that violates WSU policy, including all forms of discriminatory harassment, and sexual misconduct, in particular. This training needs to be renewed by employees within 3 months of your initial employment, and then renewed every 2 years.
- Dean of Students/Student Conduct Overview: The Dean of Students Office is available to come to any department meetings to share information about the student conduct process, academic misconduct, and resources for students in crisis. Schedule this training by contacting deanofstudents@weber.edu.
- Student Wellbeing: Interested in additional mental wellbeing training for your department staff, faculty or college? Consider scheduling the presentations offered by Student Wellbeing. Topics include QPR for Suicide Prevention, Mental Well-being Online Course, and customized trainings.

Safe@Weber Ambassadors
Safe@Weber Ambassadors are faculty, staff and students on campus who have volunteered to connect students with support and resources. These individuals undergo extensive training on the dynamics of interpersonal violence, violence prevention, and how to support those who have experienced harm. Ambassadors are not advocates or therapists but can provide direction and support along the way.

Safe@Weber Workshops
Safe@Weber provides in-person workshops available to all departments, courses, and student organizations: below you will find descriptions of available workshops, and a form to request one for your organization.
- Safe@Weber Overview: Don’t have time to participate in all of Safe@Weber’s workshops? Don’t worry, this condensed workshop explores the dynamics of interpersonal violence, WSU policies, resources, and supporting survivors. Organizations can choose between a workshop that also highlights consent or bystander intervention.
- CARE - Bystander Intervention: How many times have you witnessed something that just doesn't feel right, but you don’t really know what to do about it? Most of us say we would step in to help a friend or to stop someone from being hurt, but do we know how to do that? Be empowered with the knowledge and skills to effectively assist in the prevention of violence. This workshop will answer these questions and will leave participants knowing what they can do to help stop violence before it occurs.
- Healthy Relationships & Boundaries: This workshop defines many different types of relationships, including romantic, friendship, family, and roommates. The presentation discusses how to set and enforce boundaries, healthy communication skills, consent, and takes a look at what unhealthy/toxic relationships can look like.
- The Wounds We Can't See: Domestic and dating violence isn’t always physical. This presentation reviews the definition of emotional abuse and covers how to identify the abuse cycle and different forms of emotional abuse, the effects of that abuse, and what resources are available.
- Gender Socialization, Violence, and Prevention: This workshop explores gender role socialization, media representation, what you can do about it, and becoming an active bystander.
- Stalking 101 & Safety Planning: What is stalking, and how do you stay safe when experiencing it? This workshop provides foundational knowledge of what stalking is, the different types of stalking, rights, and options in Utah, safety planning, and what resources are available.
- Supporting Survivors: Learn about Safe@Weber Advocacy Services, and how you can support a survivor of sexual misconduct (sexual assault, rape, sexual harassment, dating/domestic violence, stalking) in a trauma-informed and empowering manner.
- Customized training: Are you looking for training for your class, department, organization, or group of friends? Safe@Weber provides educational programming, training, and workshops throughout the year addressing violence issues including sexual assault, partner or domestic violence, harassment, and stalking. You can work with the Safe@Weber staff to create a workshop or presentation that best fits your needs or those of your class/organization.
