INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) Certification Academic Equivalency

INCOSE SEP Academic Equivalency Course - SE 6010 Foundations of Systems Engineering

An academic equivalency is an arrangement between the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and a university that enables students to prove their knowledge of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook without taking the INCOSE knowledge exam. Students in approved programs may be able to bypass the knowledge exam on their path to becoming an Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).

Academic Equivalencies require a university to show how it assesses student knowledge. These assessments include quizzes, projects, and oral presentations. Students can become SEP certified over the 16-week semester, rather than the high-stakes knowledge exam. SE 6010 - Foundation of Systems Engineering is part of the master's degree, systems and sustainable engineering certificate, and is required for our model-based systems engineering certificate.

INCOSE Academic Equivalency is not retroactive. SE 6010 taken prior to Fall 2024 does not qualify for INCOSE Academic Equivalency

What is it like for a student who qualifies for academic equivalency?

Python Institute Education Partner

This education partnership will allow students to become PCEP™ Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer certification (Exam PCEP-30-0x)

PCEP™ – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer certification (Exam PCEP-30-0x) is a professional credential that measures the candidate's ability to accomplish coding tasks related to the essentials of programming in the Python language. A test candidate should demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the universal concepts of computer programming, the syntax and semantics of the Python language, as well as the skills in resolving typical implementation challenges with the help of the Python Standard Library.
