MSSE tentative course offerings as of August 4, 2025.  This list is for student planning and is subject to change. 

Students can take up to 12 credits of "SE 6900" Special Topics courses.  Each course must have a different title (topic). 

Spring 2026

SE 6380 - Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML Credits: (3) - Derek Boddy - MBSE cert course or can be taken as an elective for the SESE cert or the MS

SE 6400 – MBSE III Credits: (3) – Derek Boddy / N. Falkenberg

SE 6380 & SE 6400 are a great MBSE sequence for SESE Certificate and MS students, where you can learn two of the three pillars of MBSE.

SE 6900 Digital Engineering, Special Topics Credits: (3) - Corina White  - Available to matriculated MS students only.

This course will introduce you to Digital Engineering.  Topics covered will introduce key terms that form the foundation of digital engineering semantics and provide a roadmap for transitioning to a digital enterprise.  Topics covered include: Digital Transformation, Digital Engineering Strategies, Digital Environments & Tools, Changing the Organizational Culture, Communication & Collaboration, Digital Thread, Digital Twin, and Artificial Intelligence.

INCOSE-aligned course on Verification and Validation V&V.  Students will learn concepts of: plan and execute verification by test & analysis, define measurable acceptance criteria, trace evidence to requirements and architecture.  Students will develop validation strategies that link stakeholder needs to acceptance decisions, produce verification plans, procedures, and reports across the life cycle model LCM.
