Radiologist Assistant (RA)

The Radiologist Assistant (RA) program offers technologists opportunities to complete specialized education as a mid-level practitioner, which qualifies them to perform procedures and suggest diagnoses as a physician extender caring for patients receiving radiologic services.

Admission to the Radiologist Assistant (RA) program requires:

  • Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate academic program in health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing)
  • Be certified and registered with ARRT in Radiography to work as a Radiologic Technologist (RT)
  • Have at least two years of acceptable clinical experience in Radiography
  • Identification of Radiologist preceptor and clinical site.

Prospective students are responsible to identify a preceptor who will work with them during the program. A signed agreement form by the clinical-practice site and preceptor (radiologist/physician) will need to be submitted with the online application.  Applications may be submitted without the agreement form identifying the preceptor and clinical site for conditional acceptance. However, preceptor and clinical site must be identified by July 1, 2023 or enrollment will be deferred until Fall 2024.
