Weber State’s communication teaching degrees are good for students who want to combine a passion for communication with a career teaching secondary education.

Communication Teaching Highlights

This program has two emphases, communication studies and multimedia journalism, where you will learn a variety of teaching techniques. Minors are also a great option to choose in support of other communication degrees.

  • Communication Studies: Choose this emphasis if you plan to teach or coach human communication courses in high schools such as speech, debate, interpersonal and small group communication.
  • Multimedia Journalism: This emphasis prepares you to teach journalism and advise high school newspaper and yearbook staffs.

  • Communication research methods

What You CAN DO After Weber

Graduates of the communication teaching program are qualified to teach classes in public and private schools for grades 6-12.
