Moyes College of Education Convocation

The Spring 2024 College of Education convocation ceremony will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. in the Dee Events Center.



What to Expect


  1. Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the ceremony to check in.
  2. You will enter the Dee Events Center using the tunnel in the northwest corner of the building. 
  3. Education staff will be at a table, with name cards in alphabetical order. Go to the appropriate line.
  4. Pick up your pre-printed name card*, write your email address on the back.  The photographer will email your grad photo to that address.
  5. Once you have your name card, you will form a single line in the tunnel with the other graduates from your department. Staff will be available to direct you.
  6. Guides will lead the graduates into the arena of the Dee Events Center once the processional begins.
  7. Masters Degree Candidates: During the processional, carry your hood neatly folded over your left arm.

*If you don’t have a pre-printed card, write your name/email on a blank card, not a big deal.
*If your name is difficult to pronounce, write it phonetically on your name card.


7:30 a.m. Convocation Processional line up at the Dee Event Center.
8:00 a.m. College of Education Convocation begins
9:00-9:30 a.m. College of Education Convocation ends

Other Convocation Information

  • The ceremony will last approximately 1 hour. 
  • Plenty of seats for all the family and friends you want to bring, no limit
  • It is only for College of Education graduates.
  • There will be a student speaker for each department and then you will receive your diploma (this will be the cover for your actual diploma which will be mailed at a later date).
  • The diplomas are handed out by department and by the Dean of the college.
  • The entire department stands up together and forms a line to hand their name card to the reader and then walk across the stage. There will be ushers to help you. 


Spring grads should receive their diplomas in the mail in early June. Summer grads should receive their diploma in early October. However, your transcripts will show completed degrees, typically a week after graduation.


GradImages takes pictures during graduation ceremonies. Graduates can search the GradImages online database to find their pictures.
