Hourly Child Care

We are excited to announce that beginning fall 2026, the Melba S. Lehner Children’s School will offer hourly care for students directly within our program. 

The WSU Hourly Child Care services will merge with the MSL Children’s School, streamlining services into one central location, making it easier and more efficient for students to access care on campus.

Although the location of services is changing, the hourly care experience you are familiar with will remain the same, supported by trained, highly qualified teachers and grounded in our child-centered philosophy.

Please note that there will no longer be a summer option for hourly child care. Check out resources for quality care if you need child care over the summer. 

Hourly Care Highlights

Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Follows WSU's Academic Calendar (currently not open in the summer)

 

Scheduling:
2-hour minimum reservation
Up to 15 hours per week
Hourly care available for children age 2 and older

Rates:
Student rate: $4.50/hour
Annual registration fee: $30 (applying is free)

Enrollment:
Online application is open year-round
Paperwork and payment are required before drop-off to streamline check-in
