Department of Visual Art & Design Scholarships
The Weber State University Department of Visual Art & Design offers a number of scholarships and awards each year. To qualify, students must register on the Weber State University (WSU) scholarship link in their student portal on a yearly basis. The deadline for registering with the university is typically in early January. The deadline for the department application and uploaded portfolio is February 20, 2018. All awards are decided by April, for the following 2018-19 academic year. Except where otherwise noted, all scholarships will be awarded through the Department of Visual Art & Design by a screening of applications and nominations. Requirements: The scholarship recipient must have a declared major in Visual Art & Design, have completed a minimum of sixty (60) credit hours at WSU, have a Major GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be attending full or part time.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must be a full time student, majoring in Visual Art & Design, and have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must have a declared major in Visual Art & Design.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient will be an outstanding Visual Arts major and must be attending college full time.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must have a declared major in Visual Art & Design and have senior standing.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must have a declared major or minor in Visual Art & Design, have completed foundation level art history courses, and have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to students with an art history minor. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding scholarship in art history as evidenced by course grades, undergraduate research or written papers. The full application can be found

Requirements: The scholarship recipient must be a full-time student with a declared major in the department of Visual Art & Design, be making progress towards a degree, have a minimum 3.2 GPA and have financial need. The recipient should show unique promise in the Visual Art & Design.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must have a declared major or have the intention of majoring in Visual Art & Design. Preference will be based on a combination of factors, which may include the following: cumulative grade point average, portfolio review and writing samples. Students must submit a portfolio of their work.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must have a declared major in Visual Art or Design and an overall GPA of 2.75 or above. Preference shall be given to first generation students, i.e., parents did not attend college OR to those attending college in spite of significant obstacles, e.g. disability, widow/widower, and/or a single parent. The intent of this scholarship to provide assistance to a student who is making significant changes to their personal life trajectory. Preference will also be given to students with financial need (does not have to be determined by Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)).
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must be majoring in a Visual Art & Design program and be a resident of Weber, Davis, Morgan or Box Elder counties.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must have a declared major or minor in the Department of Visual Art & Design and a minimum GPA of 2.5. May be enrolled full or part-time.
Requirements: The scholarship recipient must be within the Visual Art & Design or Performing Arts departments.
