At Weber State University, we believe everyone deserves a chance to learn, connect, and thrive, no matter their abilities. Accessibility helps make that possible by ensuring you and everyone in our community can fully participate in digital spaces, in the classroom and beyond.

When we take steps to make things more accessible, we’re not just following a rule, we’re opening doors. And when we open those doors together, we all move forward.

What is Accessibility?

Accessibility means making the information we share easy for the widest possible audience to use and understand. It’s about reaching students, faculty, staff and our community where they are and giving them what they need to succeed.

When we create accessible course materials, websites, videos, or outreach efforts, we’re helping to remove barriers and make Weber State a place where everyone feels welcome and supported. It doesn’t have to be perfect; every small step we take makes a big difference. We’re all learning together and every effort counts.

Why Prioritize Accessibility?

  • It's ethical: it’s the right thing to do
  • It increases engagement: it makes it easier for people to understand what we’re trying to say
  • It is important: students need our help to do well in their classes
  • It improves SEO: an accessible website is more easily understood by search engines
