What is ACT?

ACT, American College Test, is an optional test for entrance into WSU.

It consists of tests in:

  • English
  • Math
  • Reading
  • Science Reasoning

It also includes an interest inventory and a student profile section to obtain information for counseling and to help students with their educational plans.

The test is offered at many colleges and high schools.

What is Residual ACT?

The Residual ACT test is the same as the National ACT and is particularly for students who did not take the ACT on one of the national test dates but need ACT scores to meet an upcoming deadline for WSU. The Residual ACT provides scores valid only for WSU purposes and may be used for admissions, course placement, WSU academic scholarship consideration, or to test out of classes entirely.

This test is limited to students who are in the application process, have been admitted, or have enrolled at WSU or a WSU Dual Enrollment program (Concurrent Enrollment or Early College). Score reports cannot be sent to any other institution or agency.

Students will NOT receive any score reports, reports are sent ONLY to the admissions office at WSU. Contact Admissions for any information regarding scores at 801-626-6743.

For students who have not yet been admitted at the time of testing, scores will be kept by the admissions office. After students are admitted and receive their W#, they may contact the admissions office at 801-626-6743 or admissions@weber.edu to have the scores added to their record.

A tester must wait 60 days to retake the Residual ACT.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your testing appointment, you must reach out to kaitlynncrane@weber.edu prior to your testing time in order to apply your payment to a future testing date or receive a refund. There will be a $10 refund/rescheduling fee.

ACT Residual testing is NOT available during the month of October.
