Arizona PTR to RT Degree Completion (AAS)
Prepares you for the Radiologic Technologist Examination (RT) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

The Weber State School of Radiologic Sciences Arizona Degree Completion program – Arizona Cohort allows limited practical technologists in radiology (PTR) to transfer in and complete their Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Upon completion, the student will be eligible to take the national certification examination given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a radiologic technologist and be prepared to work as a radiologic technologist or radiographer.

Program Requirements
The program will consist of 3 semesters starting in the Summer semester of each year. The semesters will incorporate both clinical and didactic training. The program is a hybrid format, involving online coursework, clinical hours, and Face-to-Face (F2F) class sessions in the Glendale/Phoenix area 1x per month each semester. Students will be responsible for completing required coursework and examinations. Students are required to attend designated class sessions for each semester.
Clinical education is required at 24 hours per week. These are non-paid, dedicated student clinical hours. For the ARRT Degree Completion program, it is required that a rotation to a Hospital is available to meet requirements for OR, Fluoro, and trauma. If you are already working at a site that will allow you to complete clinicals there, please include a written letter with your application.

Prerequisites
1. As part of the application process for the Arizona PTR to RT program, you must submit documentation of your Limited Licence Certificate (PTR) when applying.
2. In order to complete the AAS degree, general education requirements must be met.
If you do not already have an Associate's degree prior to starting the ARRT Advanced Standing program, you will need to complete these courses (or the equivalent) by the end of the program. This is a requirement that must be fulfilled prior to sitting for the national certification examination.
The required general education courses are:
- Introductory College Writing - English 1010 (3 credits)
- Composition & Oral or Written Communication - English 2010 (3 credits) OR Oral or Written Communication Course - Communication 1020 or 2110 (3 credits)
- Math 1010 (4 credits) or higher
- Humanities or Creative Arts (3 credits)
- Social Sciences - Psychology 1010 (3 credits)
- Physical or Life Science (3 credits)
