Service Commitment

Embedded in Weber State University’s commitment to extraordinary undergraduate teaching is a desire to educate students about the importance of giving back and serving others, locally, regionally, nationally and globally.

As an employee, you are encouraged to take part in service projects across campus.

The Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) at WSU provides service-learning and volunteer opportunities that foster engaged citizenship and inspire innovative teaching. By partnering with community organizations, CCEL also creates connections and opportunities to serve, grow and build a community that thrives.

WSU’s dedication to service is reflected in the 6,554 students who, in 2014-15, logged almost 163,060 volunteer hours.

The efforts of the university and its students, faculty and staff have not gone unnoticed.

In addition to receiving the prestigious Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement in 2008, WSU has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for eight consecutive years.
