Gary Johnson, Ph.D.
Biography & Education
Dr. Gary Johnson is a Professor of Political Science in the Political Science and Philosophy Department at Weber State University. Prior to coming to WSU in 2007 he taught at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte in the Master’s of Public Administration and PhD. In Public Policy programs. He earned his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Kansas, and received his undergraduate education at Northern Arizona University with a dual major in American History and Political Science.
Primary research areas are Public Administration, State and Local Government, Public Policy Analysis, and the Executive Branch. He has coached the Weber State Moot Court team since 2017. His co-authored book The Adapted City was published in 2003 and he has published in Public Administration Review, Municipal Finance Journal, the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory and several book chapters on city-county consolidation efforts, electoral administration in the United States, and electoral integrity. His most recent publication is a book chapter on election fraud in the 2020s, "Conspiracy Theories: Philosophers Connect the Dots," edited by Richard and Rachel Greene, Open Court Press.
