Safety Tips

We want to remind all drivers on and around Weber State University to be aware of the marked crosswalks. With the large amount of pedestrian and vehicular traffic, it is important that both drivers and pedestrians take an active role in looking out for each other. Failure to yield to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk will result in a citation.

The WSU Code Purple App

Download the new WSU Code Purple app to stay informed when there’s an emergency on campus. You will still receive Code Purple text, phone call and email alerts separately without this app, but you’ll miss out on other features like:

  • Virtual Safe Walk: On a first date? Taking a late night walk? Let campus police track you with GPS until you’re where you need to go.
  • Text with a dispatcher: Report a tip if you witness a crime or reach out if you’re in an unsafe situation.
  • Campus maps: Find single stall restrooms, changing tables and more.
  • Mobile blue light: Simultaneously send your location to and call campus police with the touch of a button.
  • And more!

All features are available as long as you’re connected to either Wi-Fi or cell phone service. Available wherever you download your apps. Visit the Code Purple website to learn more.
