Wasatch Front North Region Pathways 

Career Pathways show students a direct connection between doing well in high school and being able to transition smoothly to postsecondary opportunities or getting a good job when they graduate. Students who focus on a Career Pathway acquire the skills necessary for entry into well-paid careers with high potential for rapid financial growth, increased levels of responsibility, and a high degree of personal satisfaction.

The Wasatch Front North Region has collaborated extensively between area high schools, technical colleges and Weber State University to create transfer opportunities for all students. This list of regional pathway agreements show students their educational possibilities and how they can smoothly transition from secondary to post-secondary education and from one institution to the next. There are over 90 agreements that range from concurrent enrollment at each region school district to pathway agreements between technical colleges and WSU.

Utah Career Pathways align with and are categorized by the national Career Clusters®. Each Career Pathway culminates in an industry recognized credential of value. Each pathway is a grouping of occupations and broad industry based on their commonalities. Completion of a pathway ensures that students will have the skills and knowledge, both academic and technical that are necessary to pursue a wide-range of career opportunities.

In January 2018, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert declared 2018 as the Year of Technical Education. Since that time, massive collaboration between business and educational partners continues to create a robust CTE culture within the state. The goal of this statewide collaboration is to provide students a clear vision of the career opportunities that are possible through CTE programs and pathways.
