Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering Accelerated Graduate Degree Pathway

4+1 (4 years undergraduate + 1 year graduate)

Engineer your future faster! Earn both your Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and your Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in just five years. By sharing up to 12 credits between programs, you can save over $2000 in tuition and fees by completing graduate coursework at undergraduate rates. 

Eligibility

You must:

  • Be a declared undergraduate Mechanical Engineering major
  • Have completed 90 hours of course work
  • Have a 3.0 overall undergraduate GPA

Once accepted, you will begin taking graduate courses that count toward both degrees while meeting the following requirements: 

  • Achieve a grade of B- or better in all shared classes
  • Maintain a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Register for at least one 5000- or 6000-level course each semester during overlap period

Students are highly encouraged to begin planning early and meet with an academic advisor during the first semester of their junior year. 

A total of 30 credit hours are required for Master's, with up to 12 credits shared between BS and MS programs. You are not required to maintain full-time enrollment, should you decide you need longer to complete the program.
