Join us in shaping the 18th Annual Intermountain Sustainability Summit.

Speaker Proposal are open through Friday, October 23, 2026.

Many impactful initiatives began as small-scale projects and are now driving profoundly positive changes. To recognize this, our 2027 theme is Start Where You Are: Sparking Systemic Change in a Changing World. Starting where we are means recognizing the challenges and opportunities within our environmental, social, and political contexts as we navigate our rapidly changing world. It also means celebrating the growing movement of people actively deploying and scaling effective solutions. 

We want to hear from those who created ripples that transformed a community, a state, or even the world by taking action right where they were or by refreshing their approach. Whether you’re a sustainability professional, city planner, community organizer, engineer, architect, communicator, renewable energy developer, or leading in your field, tell us how your ideas, partnerships or innovations are sparking systemic change. 

Selected speakers will receive 50% off registration for the main event day, Thursday, March 18, 2027. If the registration cost is a barrier, please still submit a proposal, as scholarships are available for those who may need financial assistance.   

Suggest a Speaker or Topic

Many of our speakers come from suggestions made by the ISS community.

If you have a great idea for a speaker or a topic, share your ideas with us.

Whether you know of a great keynote, session speaker, or workshop leader, your ideas can help inform the ISS.

Choose a Proposal Format

Speaker proposals come in two formats. Speakers may host more than one type:

  • 50-Minute Sessions: 
    Standard presentations, moderated panel discussions, or networking experiences.
  • Workshops:
    Half-day or full-day options.

Encouraging Participant Engagement

The ISS is a dynamic and interactive event.  Proposals that include engaging, innovative formats with hands-on activities and or shared experiences are encouraged. 

Consider going beyond Q & A, with the addition interactives, or outside-of-the-box elements.
