Administrative Support

I support and facilitate the needs of the students and faculty within the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

In addition to administrative duties like reconciling the department budget, purchasing, organizing & maintaining the office, files and student records, I manage the department's website and social media.

I also help others in the use of software and university computer software programs, and work with the department chair in publishing a weekly newsletter.

How I Can Help Earth and Environmental Science Students

If I don't know the answer to your question, I will find it or connect you with the person who can.  Whatever your question, please feel welcome to stop by and see if I can help you.

Declaring your Major - When you are ready to declare your major within Earth and Environmental Sciences, I can connect you with the faculty advisor for your chosen program who will have a packet of important information, and valuable guidance, to give you.

Registering for Classes - If you are having a problem registering for a class, I can look up the issue and point you in the right direction for getting that addressed. If an error states a test and/or prerequisite issue, you can go immediately to the professor of that class to address the issue, and see if he/she will approve an override of that block. If approved, I will enter an override of the block in the system for you.

eNewsletters - I work with Dr. Ford in publishing a weekly newsletter for our students. Please let me know if you are not receiving it.  If you are not on the list, I'll add you. If you are on the list, I can help you troubleshoot why it may not be showing up in your in-box.

Time & Attendance System - All student employees use the Time and Attendance System (TAS) to clock in and out for work. I'll help you understand how to use the system, correct your time if you forget to clock in and/or out, and help you with any other questions or concerns you might have.

Scholarship Applications - In February of each year, applications for department scholarships for the next academic year become available. There will be extra copies in the office, and you're welcome to stop by and pick one up. I can also save you some time by printing your CatTracks (that must accompany each application) for you.

Got Pictures?

We love to feature your photographs of earth and environmental science-related activities and events as Photo of the Week in our weekly newsletter! You can email them to us here.
