Office of Community Development

The Office of Community Development (OCD) advances Weber State University's anchor mission by building long-term partnerships that strengthen communities through research, education, resident leadership, and civic action.

Our Belief
Lasting community change happens when universities, fellow anchor institutions, community partners, and residents work together with a shared purpose—learning from one another and building solutions together.

Our Role
To put the university's anchor mission into action by building long-term partnerships that connect education, research, student learning, and resident leadership to strengthen communities and create measurable, lasting community impact.

Our Approach: From Neighborhoods to Regional Impact
We use a place-based approach because lasting change happens where relationships are strongest. By investing deeply in people, and neighborhoods, we create meaningful hyper-local impact that can be adapted to strengthen communities across our service region.
