Get Going in the School of Business & Economics!

First things first, apply to Weber State and get admitted.

You cannot declare your degree, and be admitted to the Goddard School until you have been admitted to Weber State first.

Complete the following classes with a grade of C or higher.

• ENGL 2010 Intermediate College Writing or ENGL 2015 EN 2 Intermediate College Writing & Research
• MATH 1050 QL College Algebra or MATH 1090 QL Business College Algebra

All majors except for non-business Economics majors must complete the following seven courses with a a grade of C or higher.

If you’re pursuing an Economics major, you only need to complete ECON 2010, ECON 2020 and QUAN 2600 from the following list with a grade of C or higher:

• ACTG 2010 Survey of Accounting I
• ACTG 2020 Survey of Accounting II
• ECON 2010 Principles of Microeconomics
• ECON 2020 Principles of Macroeconomics
• MIS 2010 Business Computer Skills
• QUAN 2600 Business Statistics I
• BSAD 2620 Executive Lectures/Career Development

This course is called the "Foundations Check".

It's not actually a traditional 'course', but rather an academic checkpoint. It's an opportunity for you and an advisor to check to make sure you have everything you need to move on to your upper-division classes. We recommend you enroll in this course at the same time as your Business and Economics Foundations Courses (see above) or after you've completed them. As part of this "check", the advisor will be checking to make sure that you have:

• Taken the right courses
• Have the right grades
• Have declared a business major
• Prepared sufficiently for the coursework that is ahead of you

This check-point is designed to help you succeed. It is a free, no-credit online course, and takes 2-3 hours to complete.
