Scholarship Banquet Celebrates the Impact of Generosity
An evening of gratitude, connection and inspiration brought Goddard School students, donors and friends together to celebrate the lasting impact of scholarship support.
There are many ways to measure impact. On Friday evening, the Goddard School celebrated one of the most meaningful: the difference one person can make in the life of another.
Students, scholarship donors, faculty, staff and friends of the Goddard School gathered for an evening centered on IMPACT, celebrating the generosity of those who invest in students and the future of business education.
The evening began with gatherings for each academic department, giving scholarship recipients an opportunity to be recognized alongside the donors whose generosity is helping make their education possible. These smaller gatherings provided an opportunity for students and donors to meet, share their stories and make personal connections.
Following the department gatherings, guests came together for an evening of networking and conversation before gathering for dinner and the evening's program.
Dean Jeremy Oller welcomed guests and helped set the tone for an evening focused not only on gratitude for what has already been given, but also on what that generosity makes possible for the future.
Students Jenna Stout, Tucker West and Matthew Whatcott also shared their experiences and reflected on the people who have made a meaningful impact on their lives. Their stories offered a powerful reminder that scholarships are about much more than financial support. They provide students with opportunities, encouragement and the confidence to pursue their goals.
Throughout the evening, speakers returned to the idea of impact—recognizing those who have helped students along their journeys while looking ahead to the impact those students will have on their communities and the people they encounter throughout their own careers.
That spirit of paying it forward was also reflected at each table, where guests found cards highlighting five individuals who have made a significant impact on the Goddard School and continue to make a difference. Their stories served as a reminder that meaningful change is rarely the result of one person acting alone. It is built over time by people who choose to invest in others.
For scholarship recipients, that investment can be life-changing.
For donors, it is an opportunity to help shape the next generation of business leaders.
And for the Goddard School community, it is a shared commitment to creating opportunities that extend far beyond a single evening.
The evening was a celebration of the people who have already made an impact—and an invitation to consider the impact we can continue to make together.
The Goddard School is deeply grateful to the donors and friends who invest in our students and believe in their potential. Their generosity doesn't simply support students today; it helps empower them to make an impact of their own tomorrow.
Because impact has a ripple effect. And it starts with people who choose to make a difference.
