Student Fellowships
With the generous support of the Matthew S. Browning Design Lab, the Latin American Studies Co-Lab (LASCOLAB) is currently accepting applications for spring 2026 student fellowships. Student fellows will enjoy the unique opportunity to work closely with leading teacher-scholars and other student fellows on interdisciplinary research projects of their choosing. Structured on the principles of interdisciplinarity and collaborative inquiry, the student fellowship experience is designed to teach undergraduates how to conduct research on Hispanic cultures of the Americas by modeling a variety of research methods and including them in the research project lifecycle. Student fellows may either work on a research project of their own or they may choose to work as a Research Assistant on a project led by one of the faculty fellows. The LASCOLAB Student Fellowship is a prestigious distinction awarded to students who wish to learn how to take ownership of their research, how to incorporate research into their broader career paths, and how to become competitive candidates for graduate programs and/or professional employment.

To be eligible for this award, students must be currently enrolled as full-time or part-time students at Weber State University. They are required to have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours of work in courses taught by Weber State University faculty on campus prior to the start of the fellowship. Students may come from any discipline and may have any (intended or declared) major(s) and/or minor(s).
