Bounce Back Frequently Asked Questions
- When do Bounce Back registration holds get added and activated?
Registration holds for Bounce Back participants are added at the start of the participation semester but the hold does not become active until the day after the deadline to cancel a full semester course for the participation semester. For example, if due to Fall semester grades, a student's academic standing drops from good standing to warning, they will be loaded into Bounce Back participation at the start of Spring semester; however, heir hold will not activate until later in January. This ensures the student can adjust their Spring course schedule as needed at the start of the term.
- When do Bounce Back registration holds lift or expire?
Bounce Back holds lift within an hour of a student completing Bounce Back requirements (i.e. 100% on a scored workshop or a BB advising appointment). If a student does not complete Bounce Back requirements, the hold will expire at the end of 3 years (e.g. Holds that became active on 1/27/2026 will expire on approximately 1/27/2029). Students who are returning to Weber State are strongly urged to meet with an academic advisor before registering for classes.
- When can students who are returning from a one semester academic suspension register for classes?
Students returning from a 1 semester suspension become eligible to register on the following dates:
- April 1 (if suspension term was Spring due to Fall grades)
- August 1 (if suspension term was Summer due to Spring grades)
- December 1 (if suspension term was Fall due to Summer grades)
- I think my academic standing is incorrect. What can I do to have my record reviewed?
If you believe a course grade on your academic record is inaccurate, contact your course instructor. If you believe your academic standing is inaccurate (for instance, due to a change from an I grade to a letter grade), you can request a review of your academic standing through the Office of the Registrar. Email registrar@weber.edu using your @mail.weber.edu account or call 801-626-6100.
- I experienced a documented emergency, health crisis, or other special circumstance that impacted my semester grades. Are there exemption or petitions to Bounce Back?
There is no petition for exemption from Bounce Back participation. However, if you have a qualifying circumstance, you have the option to petition for an adjustment to your records & registration such as petitioning for a late withdrawal. It is important to note that dropping classes via a late withdrawal petition may have both positive and negative impacts.
- I have more questions about Bounce Back that are not answered at weber.edu/bounceback or the Bounce Back emails sent to my student account. Who can I contact?
You can email bb@weber.edu or contact your academic advisor.
