About Amplify Weber State

Amplify Weber State: The Campaign for Weber State University is WSU's largest fundraising campaign in history, with the goal of raising $200 million to increase student opportunities, enhance their experiences, and ensure that they graduate prepared to succeed.

Weber State is a healthy institution on solid financial footing. We are grateful for the support we receive from the state of Utah, and we manage that funding responsibly to provide an excellent education in a welcoming learning environment.

Why We Have A Campaign

Universities face many challenges:

  • Concerns about tuition costs & student debt
  • Rapidly evolving technology
  • Increased need for mental health & well-being support
  • Meeting changing workforce needs

There are also challenges specific to our state and communities. To be true to our core values of access, learning, and community, we must find ways to:

Keep Tuition
Affordable

Provide excellent return on investment for our students.

Serve & Support
Students

Support a wide variety of students as they work toward their degrees.

Advance Utah’s
Economic Growth

Meet workforce education needs with innovative programs.

Recruit &
Support Professors

Invest in professional development and excellence in teaching.

Weber State has proactive plans and goals not only to meet these challenges, but to move beyond them. We will be a leader in transforming lives by meeting all students where they are, challenging and guiding them to achieve their goals academically and in life. This is why we have a campaign to Amplify Weber State.

Why Now Is the Time

Weber State is in its fifth and final year of the Amplified 2.0, a 5-year plan for growth that identified priorities in student access, retention, and completion; personal connections and academic excellence; and the university’s position as a community anchor. As we look forward to our next plan,  access, learning, and community remain the foundation, guiding our focus and our future.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the American Council on Education have introduced a new classification system for colleges and universities — one that focuses on student success. The creation of a new Student Access and Earnings classification means Weber State’s strong focus on accessibility and established reputation for return on investment have us well positioned to be named an “opportunity university.”

Generous contributions from individuals, organizations, and corporations in recent years have allowed us to make progress on many initiatives, and they’ve had a huge impact on the experiences of our students. They also demonstrate that support is strong: Our community believes in the value of WSU and what we have the potential to do.

The time is right to build on that strong foundation of support to Amplify Weber State.
