OGDEN, Utah — Ogden native and former corporate executive and legal counsel for Citigroup Karla Bergeson was elected as chair of Weber State University’s Board of Trustees at its annual orientation meeting today.

Bergeson, who was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2017 and served as vice chair since 2021, thanked the board members for their trust in her leadership.

“I am honored and privileged to serve as chair of Weber State University’s Board of Trustees,” Bergeson said. “I look forward to working with this amazing team of trustees and doing everything in our power to better foster student success. One way our board can help our students succeed is to continue to build on WSU’s successful collaborations with the community, businesses, local schools and Hill Air Force Base.”   Karla Bergeson talks to colleagues at a local WSU Board of Trustees meeting.

She succeeds Kearston Cutrubus, who has led the board since 2021.
