The Clothesline Project is a visual display dedicated to raising awareness about the reality of violence in our society. The display is composed of t-shirts created by survivors of violence or in honor of someone who has experienced violence. Stop by the Shepherd Union during the month of October to see this powerful display!

Footsteps to Light

Safe@Weber will be joining YCC Family Crisis Center for an impactful evening for the annual Footsteps to Light event! The night will feature delicious snacks, inspirational speakers, a collaborative art activity, and an interactive role-playing experience called In Their Shoes to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Bring your family, friends, and educators to raise awareness and take a stand to end domestic violence in our community. Don’t miss out—come be part of the change!

Join Safe@Weber for our Clothesline Project tabling event! We will be providing information regarding National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and more specifically about the Clothesline Project. Students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to learn about the Clothesline Project and engage in decorating their own t-shirt cookies. 

Survivor Centered and Trauma Informed Climbing Workshop

Time: 2 - 4:30 p.m.
Location: Lower 9th Street Ogden

Safe@Weber Advocacy Program, the Outdoor Program, and OCRE are hosting a trauma-informed climbing workshop. The goal of this event is to create a safe space for survivors and allies alike to have a trauma-informed way to learn the necessary skills to rock climb outside on a top rope. Top roping is the safest way to begin climbing and is a necessary first step for any new climber. This free workshop will teach participants how to climb, while also empowering them to trust their bodies, their voices, and other participants.

Join us for a spoooooky discussion around common horror film tropes/characters and how they portray harmful stereotypes, desensitize us to violence, and glamorize (blood) red flag behaviors. Fall-themed crafts and refreshments will be provided!
