Metaphor is Weber State University’s undergraduate literary journal. Published annually each spring, the magazine features original poetry, fiction, literary nonfiction, interviews, and art. Metaphor’s chief aim is to encourage WSU students to express their ideas through creative writing and the arts. Additionally, student staff members gain valuable editing, graphic design, publishing, teaching, and event planning experience. The journal hosts biannual open mic nights at local bookstores and stages a spring gala in conjunction with the publication of each issue. Print copies are freely distributed on campus, in the wider community, and to participants of the National Undergraduate Literature Conference. The editors encourage students from all backgrounds and disciplines to submit their best work.
