Weber State’s photo/video program offers artsy students who enjoy taking photos the skills, knowledge and experience to turn your love for photography into a profession.

Photography Highlights

Weber State offers the most comprehensive photography and videography program and facilities in the Intermountain West. Our 4,000-square-foot photography lab features:

  • Beginning and advanced darkrooms
  • High-end digital workstations
  • Mural darkroom
  • Alternative-process lab
  • Dedicated lighting studio

Advanced students have access to high-end cameras and equipment for off-campus use.

What You’ll Learn at Weber

Weber State’s expansive photography curriculum covers contemporary practices and the historical traditions from which those practices evolved.

You’ll learn technical expertise in analog and digital imaging, along with critical skills and theoretical insights necessary for your career in photography.

What You Can Do After Weber

Upon graduation, you’ll have the skills necessary to pursue a career as an exhibiting artist or work in a wide range of photography-related professions.

This degree is often a prerequisite for admission to an MFA program.
