Seth Arens has worked as a Utah-based research scientist for Western Water Assessment since 2015 where he conducts applied climate research to assist resource managers and local government to understand and adapt to climate change. Seth also works in the Lake Powell region of southern Utah researching how riparian ecosystems are growing as the reservoir dries. He has a diverse scientific background including research experience in ecosystem and plant ecology, snow hydrology and atmospheric sciences.  Prior to 2015, Seth worked as an environmental scientist for the Utah Division of Air Quality where he conducted research on ozone pollution and maintained the state’s air quality monitoring network. Seth earned M.S. degrees from the University of Alaska-Anchorage in 2007 and from the University of Utah in 2010.
