Veterans Resource & Education Fair

We invite all agencies that provide services or administer benefits to Veterans to take part in our fair. We will provide an 8 foot table with tablecloth and chairs. We are also seeking guest speakers that can provide insight to current issues and concerns of Veterans. All guest speakers will be given 5-10 minutes.

The intent of the fair is for Veterans and their families to obtain direct connections and collect advice from various organizations that provide services to Veterans in the First Congressional District. The fair will feature resource booths from federal, state, and local agencies and veteran support organizations.

Opening remarks by Congressman Rob Bishop followed by featured guest speakers. Complimentary breakfast buffet.

Hill Air Force Base Hiring

Hill AFB has been partially exempted from the federal-wide hiring freeze and will begin a vigorous recruitment campaign to ramp up for incoming workload over the next several years.

Under Direct Hire Authority we can now accept resumes directly for the above critical shortage occupations. We will refer qualified candidates to supervisors and they will contact individuals directly if they are interested in interviewing. Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Equipment Mechanic

Hill AFB will be using Direct Hire Authority (DHA) to immediately fill at least seven (7) Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Equipment Mechanic civilian jobs. (Civilian means that there is no military commitment.) The demand for HVAC Equipment Mechanics is continual at around 10-12 new hires per year.

WHO MAY APPLY:

  • Resumes will only be accepted from candidates with some experience, training, and/or certification in HVAC repair.
  • Inexperienced candidates are encouraged to attend a technical college to obtain skills training if they wish to enter this occupation.
  • Hill AFB will be using the federal Pathways Intern program for helper-level positions (Wage Grade 5 pay grade and below) which requires students to apply to specific announcements on USAJOBS.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Applicants must be registered for Selective Service if required.

HOW TO APPLY:

  • Under DHA, applicants do not have to apply through USAJOBS
  • Experienced candidates interested in working at Hill AFB may email their resumes directly to the Ogden Air Logistics Complex recruitment team at: HILL.AFB.Outreach@us.af.mil
  • Qualified candidates will become part of a standing register for this occupation for a 90 day period, at which time candidates will be asked to update their resumes if they are interested in being considered for HVAC Mechanic vacancies an additional 90 days.
  • Technical College Students may apply up to 6 months before graduation for permanent, full-time employment at Hill AFB.

RESUME REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Each block of work experience must include:
    • Month/year for starting/ending dates
    • Salary
    • Average hours worked per week
    • Job title
    • Supervisors’ name, phone number, and a “may we contact” statement
    • Detailed information about the work performed.
    • Unpaid/volunteer work experience and hands-on class projects may also be qualifying if they are relevant to the job being filled, so applicants should provide detailed descriptions of such experience on their resumes.
