GEAR UP is a federally funded program designed to help students succeed in high school and successfully achieve a college graduation. The program is offered free of charge to eligible students at Clearfield, Layton, and Roy High Schools as well as ninth grade students at Central Davis, Mountain, and Sand Ridge Junior High Schools.

GEAR UP can:

  • Provide one-on-one assistance to help students plan and prepare for college
  • Enable access to academic coaching to support students' success
  • Support students and families in discovering options for post-secondary education
  • Help navigate college application and enrollment processes
  • Assist students and families to identify and obtain financial aid

UVU GEAR UP Day is coming up
on August 6, 2015!  Join us to attend interactive workshops on financial aid and how to prepare for college.  You will have the opportunity to network with GEAR UP students, alumni, and parents, as well as participate in a tour of the university.  A free light breakfast and lunch will be provided.  State GEAR UP will also provide free transportation.
