DESIGNED FOR SUCCESS

Our program aims to increase productivity and improve patient communication and radiologic care. We designed the MSRS program to enhance the professional development of advanced radiologic sciences professionals through self-development and critical thinking skills.

AN EXCLUSIVE EDUCATION

Our program at Weber State University is currently the only MSRS program in Utah and one of the few in the nation.

WE’RE RECOGNIZED BY ARRT

Our Radiologist Assistant emphasis is recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Upon completing the program, you will be eligible to take the national certification exam to become certified and registered as a registered radiologist assistant (RRA).

MSRS Degree Emphases

Radiologist Assistant (RA) Emphasis

Certified and registered radiologic technologists have the opportunity to complete specialized education as mid-level practitioners, which qualifies them to perform procedures and suggest diagnoses as physician extenders, caring for patients who receive radiologic services.

Upon graduation, you will be eligible to take the national certification exam and become certified and registered as an RRA through the ARRT.

The application deadline for priority acceptance is May 1. Applications submitted after this date are still considered. Radiologist preceptors must be identified by July 1, or enrollment will be deferred to the following year.

Applications for fall 2026 enrollment are now open.

Innovation and Improvement Emphasis (Virtual)

Focused on elevating imaging professionals and patient care, this emphasis will provide you with the diverse, customized skills and knowledge necessary to connect imaging practices with policy.

You can complete the Innovation and Improvement emphasis in a virtual format, with monthly classes on Zoom, a set schedule, and additional online coursework.

Application deadlines for priority acceptance are:

  • March 1 for summer semester admission
  • May 1 for fall semester admission
  • November 1 for spring semester admission

We accept applications beyond these deadlines as space is available. Applicants may apply while completing their bachelor's degree or imaging certification.

Cardiac Specialist Emphasis

Develop analytical thinking skills and research capability while studying various disciplines, including coronary and structural heart disease, multimodality cardiac imaging, and interventional cardiac catheterization.

Upon graduation, you will qualify to sit for the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) exam and/or the Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI) exam.

The Cardiac Specialist Emphasis is not accepting applications for fall 2026 enrollment. Questions can be directed to msrs@weber.edu.
