FRLANG 4500 or 6500

Fall Semester August 23, 2009 to December 10, 2009

If you wish to register for Fl 4500 or Fl 6500, you will not need to apply for admissions and pay any admission fees. Please call Continuing Education at 800-848-7770 or 801-626-6600. State that you are seeking to enroll in the FL 4500 or FL 6500 online course. Staff there will help you with your registration questions or concerns and send you the registration form. Tuition fees are expected and due at the time you complete and send in your registration form.

Tuition and fees for the Online Methods Course for Summer 2009 session are:
FL 4500 (4 credits: Undergraduate) $750.00
FL 6500 (4 credits: Graduate) $825.00

Tuition and fees for the Online Methods Course for Fall 2009 session are: 
FL 4500 (4 credits: Undergraduate) $775.00
FL 6500 (4 credits: Graduate) $850.00

Course Access

You will have access to your course the first day the class begins each semester. You will not be able to access your course before then. To access your course after you have registered and paid your fees, you must do the following:

  • Create a Wild Cat account at http://weber.edu/eservices.

  • Log into your course by going to the "student portal" (go to http://weber.edu and select "current students." You will use your Wild Cat user name and password to log in.

  • Select "My WSU Online courses," then the name of your course (either FRLANG 4500 or FRLANG 6500). This will take you to either your course materials or to the Web CT login page. At the WebCT login page (http://vista.weber.edu,) choose WSU Online as the institution, then log in using your Wild Cat user name and password.

Textbooks

There are two required texts for this course. You need to order them ASAP.

1. Teacher's Handbook, 3rd edition by Judith Shrum and Eileen Glisan, ISBN 1413004628. It is available through our online bookstore or you may choose to purchase it elsewhere.   Our online bookstore is http://bookstore.weber.edu.

2. Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century. You order this directly from ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages):

Click "National Standards for Foreign Language Education" located on left hand side at the bottom in menu bar
