WSU Students Develop App to Help Document Homeless in California

OGDEN, Utah — Weber State University computer science graduate Mike Beasley worked with WSU assistant computer science professor Ted Cowan and students to create a mobile app that will help document the homeless in Santa Clara County, California during its homeless census Jan. 27-28.

WSU was contracted by the city of San Jose to work on the app and partnered with Community Technology Alliance, a non-profit group whose mission is to use technology to develop solutions to end homelessness and poverty.
