How to Apply for Summer Financial Aid
This includes Pell Grants, Federal loans, and work study.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- The FAFSA year runs from fall to summer (exp: fall 2026-summer 2027).
- You can complete FAFSA for the upcoming fiscal year up until June 30.
- You must:
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress guidelines.
- Take at least 6 credit hours during the summer.
How to Apply for Weber State Summer Scholarships
- Apply for summer specific scholarships.
- Summer aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to apply before March 1.
- Check your Wildcat email for updates and award information.
How to Apply for Third-Party Summer Scholarships
- Find and apply for 3rd party scholarships through Scholarship Universe.
- Pay attention to if the scholarship is offered for summer semester and the deadline for accepting the scholarship.
Eligibility
Early College & NUAMES Students
You can apply for WSU Scholarships and 3rd party scholarships in Scholarship Universe.
Resident/Non-Resident Students
You can apply for summer financial aid by completing your FAFSA, WSU Scholarships and 3rd party scholarships in Scholarship Universe. Non-Resident students pay in-state tuition rates in the summer.
Study Abroad, Continuing Education, Independent Study Students
You can apply for summer financial aid by completing your FAFSA, and 3rd party scholarships in Scholarship Universe. You may already be paying reduced tuition rates and are ineligible for WSU summer-specific scholarships. If you’re not sure of your status, go ahead and apply.
Graduate Students
You can apply for summer financial aid by completing your FAFSA and 3rd party scholarships in Scholarship Universe. Because master's programs have different credit requirements than undergraduate programs, you are not eligible for summer discounts.
Incoming Recently Graduated High School Students
You can apply for 3rd party scholarships in in Scholarship Universe. If you graduate before May 1, you can apply for summer financial aid by completing your FAFSA.
Non-Resident Students
As a non-Utah resident, you automatically receive in-state tuition rates when you take summer classes. You may also be eligible for additional Pell Grant funding.
