France – Universite Clermont Auvergne

Program Details

Students will understand the enigma of "The French Touch" through an introduction to France's history, food, fashion, literature, and film, politics, sports, and of course, language. In addition to exposing students to the French culture, this program gives an insight to the development of France as one of the main players in the world arena in so many areas. Classes, guest speakers, excursions and visits give a varied and dynamic approach to this exceptional learning experience.

Selection Criteria:

All participants will need to be admitted to the MBA program or need to be alumni of the MBA program.

On a limited basis, students from other WSU graduate programs are welcome to attend, as are some qualified undergraduate business majors. Some trip participants may choose to bring along travel partners who are not enrolled in the MBA course.

A great deal of moving is anticipated so there is an expectation of good health.

Program Dates:

June 4, 2019 – June 14, 2019

Cost

If registering by the November 30, 2018, early bird deadline, the program fee is 1235€ (about $1,431). Otherwise, the program fee is 1535€ (about $1,778). This includes classes, local excursions, accommodation in Clermont Ferrand, travel to Paris and accommodation in Paris. Students are responsible for their meals, airfare, passport/visa, and personal expenses.

Pay deposit and all payments to the Hurst Center for Lifelong Learning in person or pay over the phone with a credit card at (801) 626-6600. Please, do not pay on campus, all payments need to be made at the Hurst Center.

Itinerary

Fly into Paris and take a train to Vichy, or fly into Clermont-Ferrand and take a train or shuttle to Vichy. The university is a brief 10-minute walk from the train station.

Students will have classes every day and excursions to local sites, including a visit and lunch at a chateau and learning how to make cheese. A three-day excursion to Paris is also included. Accommodation is in single rooms in student dormitories.

Trip Cancellations

If the trip is canceled, all participants will be refunded. Any refunds for withdrawals from the program will be determined by the Study Abroad Director according to the recoverability of incurred costs and fees and according to the Continuing Education Policy. Once the group leaves all costs are non-refundable in their entirety. Dates & process may change. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of any such changes by staying in contact with the program director.
