Weber State Students Excel at Pacific Northwest Sales Competition
CORVALLIS – Students from Weber State University recently competed at the Pacific Northwest Sales Competition hosted by Oregon State University Sales Academy, joining top sales students from universities across the region for two days of team and individual competition, networking, and professional development.
Coached by Professor Blake Nielson, Weber State was represented by Amelia Watson, Paige Thorstensen, Natalie Schulz, and Maddy Hahne. The competition included a pre-competition cold call to set up a sales meeting, a Team Role Play event on Friday, followed by multiple rounds of Individual Role Play competition on Saturday, culminating in a final round and awards presentation.
Weber State delivered an outstanding performance across both team and individual events. Paige Thorstensen earned Second Place Overall, taking home $1,800 in prize money. Amelia Watson advanced to the Semifinal Round, demonstrating exceptional preparation and composure against a highly competitive field. All four students competed at a high level throughout the event and represented Weber State with professionalism and skill.
Reflecting on the experience, Senior Professional Sales major from Farmington, Maddy Hahne shared, "My experience competing at Oregon State was incredibly rewarding, filled with learning, motivation, and the excitement of being surrounded by driven individuals."
Natalie Schulz, a Junior Professional Sales major from Michigan, added, "I feel I was able to learn so much from my team and the others I met."
Paige Thorstensen, a Senior Professional Sales major, emphasized the team dynamic, stating, "We worked hard to achieve our goals while supporting one another throughout the process."

The Pacific Northwest Sales Competition provided students with the opportunity to sharpen their sales competencies in live buyer scenarios, network with corporate partners, and participate in a career fair designed to connect top talent with industry leaders. The event reinforces Weber State’s commitment to experiential learning and preparing students to excel in competitive, relationship-driven sales careers.
