PSSA Students Gain Valuable Experience at the 2025 Blue Turf Sales Competition
BOISE, Idaho – The 2025 Blue Turf Sales Competition, proudly sponsored by Dykman Electric, brought together ambitious students and industry leaders for a high-impact, two-day event hosted at Boise State University on October 24–25. Designed to bridge
the gap between the classroom and the boardroom, the competition allows rising sales professionals to demonstrate their ability to navigate real-world selling scenarios, analyze complex cases, and present persuasive value propositions to panels of industry
experts.
Companies attending the competition seek motivated students who excel in solution-based selling. Their focus extends beyond academic achievement—they’re looking for individuals who can think critically, connect authentically, and create meaningful value in real-world sales environments.

“I loved participating in the Blue Turf Sales Competition this fall!” Said Amelia Watson, a Junior Professional Sales major. “This was my second time traveling to Boise for this event, and my favorite part is connecting with like-minded students, building
relationships with industry professionals, and continuing to learn and grow from these experiences.” Amelia Watson, Weber State University
For Amelia, a returning competitor, the event offered another chance to refine her craft and expand her network. Watson was also joined by first-time participants like Natalie Schulz, Atul Khadka, and Matt Elmer, all members of the Professional Sales Student
Association.
“I loved being able to dip my toes into a sales competition and connect with amazing people and companies.” Said Schulz, a Professional Sales major. Over two days, participants from nine universities—including Weber State University, Boise
State University, Brigham Young University, and others—stepped into the role of sales representatives, testing their skills in live, judged role-plays. The accompanying Sales Career Fair on October 24 gave students the chance to meet and network with more
than ten sponsoring companies actively recruiting for internships and entry-level sales positions.
Individual role-play champions earned cash prizes of $1,500, $1,000, and $500 for first through third place, while top university teams claimed $2,000, $1,000, and $500 awards. Idaho State University took home the prize as the best overall team at the
competition, while students from Brigham Young University took home multiple individual awards.
