Permit Holder FAQs

Do I have to have a permit to park on campus?
Yes, all vehicles entering and parking on campus from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, must have a valid parking permit or pay to park at a meter or the hourly pay parking lot.

How do I register my vehicle?
You may register online to obtain a digital parking permit.

What permits are available for purchase?
The primary permits that are available to students are W, RW, R  permits. The RW and R permits are only available to students that live on campus. The “A” permits are available to senior students only through a lottery the first week of July.

Is there a wait list available for A permits?
Yes, email Parking Services to be added to the waitlist. Please include your name, W# and the A permit type you are interested in.

What if I have a new, borrowed or rental car for the day?
If you have a temporary vehicle, you can add the license plate or temporary tag number to your account and assign it to your permit. Permits can only have one vehicle assigned to them at a time, so make sure the vehicle you are parking on campus is the one checked under the “active permit.”

Do I have to park in my assigned area during the break?
Parking is enforced Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The “A” lots are enforced year round. During campus breaks and in between semesters all of the “W” lots are open and do not require a permit.

I can’t find a place to park in my assigned lot(s). What can I do?
The peak parking time on campus is from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The majority of classes are scheduled during this time frame. “W” parking can be difficult to find during this time. Free parking is always available at the Dee Center with a convenient ride on OGX to campus.

Where can I park with a state disability permit?
Both a state disability placard/plate and a WSU disability permit are required to park in an ADA space in an A, W or RW lot. Anyone having both “permits” displayed may park in any of the lots on campus.

This does not include the meters, pay lot or reserved areas. A WSU disability permit is not required in these areas.

What do I do if I don't have a front license plate?
If you don’t have a front license plate, park so that your back license plate is visible to be scanned from the driving lane, as your plate number is your parking permit. Be sure not to pull through a parking space or back in when parking without a front plate.
