Direct Admissions FAQ

Don’t worry! Here’s what you need to know:

• All seniors in participating high schools are admitted through the direct admissions program throughout October. Most students will receive joint acceptance letters at this time.
• If you have yet to receive your letter by mid-November, you may have been missed or enrolled as a high school senior after Oct. 10. In this case, we encourage you to apply directly to Davis Technical College, Ogden-Weber Technical College or Weber State University. 
• If you have any concerns or need assistance, contact the admissions office at your preferred institution. They can help you through the application process and answer any questions.

Upon completing the confirmation of interest form, students will select a specific program of study.

No. Direct admissions is for students in certain public high schools within our partner districts. Homeschooled students should follow the standard admissions process for each institution.

Scholarships & Financial Aid for Homeschooled Students

It means that you’ve been pre-approved for admission to Davis Technical College, Ogden-Weber Technical College, and Weber State University without needing to submit a regular application. You do need to complete the Confirmation of Interest (COI) form to let the school(s) you are interested in know of your interest. This helps the schools with the details they need to get you added to their communication plans, so they can send you information on what you need to do next to start classes in the fall. Because the next steps are different for every school, the individual schools will reach out to you separately once they know of your interest. You’ll just follow the directions of the school you want to attend.

Yes! You’re welcome to explore the technical colleges and the university to find the best fit for you. You can learn more about each school on the direct admission page and you can also select whatever schools you want to know more about in the Confirmation of Interest (COI) form to start receiving communications from them.

While you're admitted to the schools, some programs may have additional requirements or limited spots. Reach out to the admissions office for details on specific programs.

That's ok; you can fill out the Confirmation of Interest (COI) form and select any or all of the schools to start getting communications from the school(s). This may help you make a decision. You can also always reach out to the admissions office at any school to ask questions and discuss your goals.

While you are admitted, we need a bit more information to complete the admission process on our end. The Confirmation of Interest (COI) form lets the school(s) know that you are interested so you can be added to their communications to receive more info about the school and more info on what you need to do next for each school to hit the ground running in the fall. At Weber State, your next step will be to accept any scholarships offered and complete orientation so you can register for classes. At the tech colleges, you will need to pick the program you want to enroll in.

At Weber State, you are admitted, but you still need to enroll in classes before the semester starts and you need to complete orientation to do that. So if you do not complete the Confirmation of Interest (COI) form, you will be asked to do so at the in-person orientation before you can enroll in classes.

At the tech colleges, you are admitted to the school, but they need to know what program you want to enroll in. The Confirmation of Interest (COI) form gives them the info they need to reach out to you and get you enrolled in the right program before school starts.

With Direct Admissions, you are admitted to three schools at once. Because of direct admissions, you do not have to complete the whole application process, but we do need more information from you so we can help steer you in the right direction to learn more and get all set up for fall semester. Therefore, we do need you to complete the Confirmation of Interest so we can get you added to the communication plan for the school(s) you are interested in.

You may have already worked with a counselor at school to complete the COI or received an email with steps to complete the COI. Once you have completed it, you do not need to complete it again. We likely did not get your submission before our letters went out to print.

After you complete the COI, the selected school(s) will reach out to you with information about the school and how to get set up for fall semester. The next steps for each school will vary, but what is essential for all schools is that you complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to get federal aid to pay for school. Completing the FAFSA also gives the schools information for scholarships that you may be eligible for.

The COI is only for current seniors. If you graduated from high school before 2026, please complete the admissions application for the institution you want to apply to.

If you have already applied to one or all of of these schools, then you do not need to complete the Confirmation of Interest (COI). You should already be part of the communication plan for the school(s) you have applied to and they will let you know what to do next to get all set up for fall semester.
