The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences knows students need a variety of skills and knowledge to help them become vital members of the healthcare team. Our students go on to play a central role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, graduating prepared to work in hospitals, research facilities and more.
Why Medical Laboratory Sciences?
Medical laboratory scientists, or medical technologists, spend most of their time in a lab helping patients. As of spring 2025, Weber State students have a pass rate of 87% on the MLS Certificate as well as 94% with the MLT certificate and many participate in undergraduate research which helps develop community knowledge and detect factors in diseases.
