Ready to pursue a Master of Health Administration (MHA) at Weber State? On this page, you will find information on how to apply, application eligibility, prerequisite requirements, and more. Applications can be submitted without GRE or GMAT scores. Applicants can expect a decision within two weeks following each deadline.

Eligibility Requirements

You must meet the following prerequisites to be considered for all MHA program formats.

Prerequisites
- A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited school must be completed by the program start date. No specific discipline is required.
- A grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- United States healthcare or supervisory experience is preferred, but not required.
Program Application
You are responsible for submitting a complete application; the final screen of the online application process will prompt you to submit it. Your application is incomplete until you have submitted an online application and until the office has all the necessary items.
- Former WSU undergraduates must create a new login to access our graduate application.
- Applications will not be reviewed without a paid application fee. A $60 application fee is due at the time of submission; it is $90 for dual degree applicants, $95 for international students, and $125 for international dual degree applicants. All fees are non-refundable.
  - A credit card is the preferred form of payment, but other forms are welcome. Payment instructions are in the online application. Checks must be made payable to Weber State with your name written on the check.

Transcripts

You must submit official transcripts of your academic record from all previous colleges or universities you attended. Sending transcripts electronically is preferred. If the college or university provides this option, they can send your transcript to our enrollment director.

If the college or university does not provide this option, request that the official transcripts be sent to our admissions office address:

If your transcripts are sent directly to you, forward them unopened in their original sealed envelope to the address above. Weber State transcripts do not need to be sent in.

Letters of Recommendation

As part of the application, you will be prompted to provide contact information for at least two individuals who will provide your recommendations. These individuals will receive an automatically generated email to bring them to an evaluation form. To complete this portion of the application, the applicant will need the name and email address of each person making a recommendation.

The MHA Admissions Committee suggests that you request these recommendations early in the application process to ensure they arrive before the next application deadline. By requesting online recommendations, you have waived your right to see the content of the recommendations and understand that the recommendations will remain confidential to the admissions committee by each recommender.
Supplemental Information

During the online application, you will be allowed to further explain any academic, work, or personal areas that will impact the acceptance of your application. Examples of these extenuating circumstances or concerns can include your academic performance as an accurate measure of your potential, unexplained gaps in your work experience, or unexplained gaps in your academic experience.

The MHA Admissions Committee will see explanations. If needed, please elaborate in a separate Word document and upload the file with your online application.

International Student Applicants

Application Process

Step 1: Apply to Weber State
As an international applicant, you must complete additional paperwork to comply with Weber State and United States immigration regulations. For more information, please visit the International Student & Scholar Center's Admissions page.

Step 2: Apply to the MHA program
You must meet the MHA program’s eligibility requirements before applying. An application fee is due when submitting your online application: $95 for international students and $125 for international dual degree applicants.

Step 3: Pay your deposits
If accepted to the MHA program, international students must pay a $250 deposit to the International Student Success Center and a $200 MHA program deposit. Both deposits will be applied to the tuition of your first semester.

Demonstrate English proficiency
If your native language is not English, you must submit an English proficiency test score no more than 2 years old. The following are accepted English proficiency tests and minimum score requirements:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - 550 or higher (PBT) or 80 or higher (iBT)
- For information about TOEFL and testing, please visit the Education Testing Services (ETS) website or call 609-771-7100.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - 6.5 overall score or higher
- Duolingo English Test - 105 or higher
If you have taken a different language proficiency test other than those listed, please email our enrollment director for minimum score requirements.
- You can be exempted from this requirement if you have a bachelor's degree from an English-speaking college or university, as long as you provide documentation for verification.
- Before submitting your application, you must take the English proficiency test and have the testing organization send official score reports to Weber State (institutional code 4941-4211).

Application Status

You will be notified of your application status by email following a meeting of the MHA Admissions Committee. For further questions regarding your application or to have your application reconsidered, please contact our enrollment director.

- Your file will remain active for the next 12 months and may be resubmitted without paying an additional application fee.
- You may provide evidence of changes since your application was first submitted to have your file reconsidered at the next admissions committee meeting. This may be a new GRE or GMAT score report, academic transcripts from subsequent coursework, updated work history, etc.
- Supplementary information will be added to the application file and forwarded to the admissions committee for consideration.
