Studying Finance at Weber State

Weber State’s finance major prepares you for a career in the finance industry by providing a solid foundation in capital, investment and portfolio management, as well as an understanding of financial institutions and personal finance.

Finance Highlights

Weber State’s finance faculty is made up of professors with multiple research and publication references, as well as career investment and banking experts. With this variety of research and field professionals, the program offers students an excellent balance of theory and practical, real-world application for their finance degrees.

Weber’s John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics is accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. This distinction is held by fewer than 6% of all business schools.

Obtain and manage the financing necessary to start and run a business and analyze investments
Make informed investment decisions
Communicate the results of your analysis effectively

What You CAN DO After Weber

You can work as a financial or compliance analyst, portfolio manager, treasury specialist, demand planner or in a variety of other careers. You can work with insurance companies, state or federal governments, financial organizations and other companies.

Faculty Perspective

One of the best things about learning finance is that the principles of finance apply so widely. Not everyone will manage the finances of a large corporation, but nearly everyone will have to get a loan, save for retirement and manage a household budget.
