Jennifer is an earth scientist and educator who is committed to understanding and disseminating actionable information about climate solutions within the Intermountain West. Jennifer has both a scientific background in climate and air quality science including policy-informing regional scale air pollution modeling in the Midwest (ozone) and in Utah (PM2.5), and an extensive background as a college educator of climate science, air pollution, geology, and applications of environmental science within the Salt Lake community. These experiences enable Jennifer to communicate effectively about climate, air quality and clean energy topics, but also to understand differing sensibilities regarding these important and often complicated issues.
Jennifer’s role at Utah Clean Energy will be to support climate programs such as Utah Climate Action Network, and to provide technical analysis to support regulatory and community-based energy projects. Jennifer received a BA in Physics from Amherst College and an MS in Geophysics from the University of Washington in Seattle. Jennifer’s passion for the planet extends far beyond contributing to positive outcomes to climate and air quality problems. She loves all things mountain related: spending time with family, friends, and dogs; hiking, biking, running, and skiing; and appreciating the magnificent beauty that our planet shares with us.
