Research and Engagement Symposium: Graduate Student and Faculty Awards

The Office of Graduate Studies recognizes outstanding student research and projects through our annual award program. These awards recognize collaboration, innovation, and mentorship in graduate-level scholarship.

Eligibility:

  • Nominees must be accepted to present at the Research and Engagement Symposium.

Submit an Abstract

Award Categories and Amounts:

  • Student Research or Project Award: $300
  • Team Research or Project Award: $400
  • Faculty Mentor Award: $500

Graduate Student Research/Project Award

Evaluation Criteria:

  • The abstract provides a concise and accurate summary of the research study or project.
  • The research or project incorporated a clear methodology, effectively applied outcomes or findings, and was clearly communicated in the abstract.
  • The research or project was relevant to the discipline and had the potential to advance practice, knowledge, or future research.

Graduate Research or Project Team Award

Evaluation Criteria:

  • The research study or project team demonstrated a collaborative, team-based approach to identifying and evaluating a problem within the discipline.
  • The abstract provided a concise and accurate summary of the research study or project.
  • The research or project employed a clear and rigorous methodology, effectively applied outcomes or findings, and was clearly communicated in the abstract.
  • The research or project was relevant to the discipline and showed potential to advance leadership, clinical, or educational practice, knowledge, and/or future research.

Graduate Faculty Mentor Award

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Overall contribution to the development of the research study or project.
  • Provided guidance and support for student research, projects, and professional growth.
  • Fostered a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promoted meaningful support, scholarly outcomes, and professional growth, including student development, publications, professional presentations, and career advancement.
